Are you a qualified mechanic who wants to step up, lead a small team, and still stay on the tools?

AGS Civil is a family-owned civil company with a strong pipeline of work and a real focus on safety, quality and looking after their people. We are looking for a hands-on Workshop Coordinator to run the Greenbank yard and keep the fleet in good shape and moving. 

The Role:

You will be the go-to person for the workshop, responsible for both coordination and hands-on work, including:

  • Leading and mentoring workshop staff, setting daily priorities and standards.
  • Creating a positive, safe and productive workshop culture.
  • Scheduling and coordinating maintenance and repairs for light vehicles, small plant and heavy equipment.
  • Implementing and managing preventative maintenance programs to reduce breakdowns.
  • Adhering to checklists and strict quality control standards.
  • Conducting inspections and quality checks on completed work.
  • Monitoring inventory, ordering parts and working with procurement to control costs and downtime.
  • Working closely with operations and site teams to ensure equipment is ready when they need it.
  • Rolling up your sleeves and jumping on the tools when required.

What You Bring:

  • Trade qualification in the relevant field 
  • Proven experience as a Workshop or Maintenance Supervisor / Coordinator.
  • Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, diagnostics and civil equipment (excavators, posi track, rollers, graders, trucks).
  • Solid planning and organisational skills to manage schedules and competing priorities.
  • Welding skills, plus prep and painting knowledge.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills – you can coach, motivate and hold standards.
  • Ability to problem-solve under pressure and prioritise breakdowns without losing your cool.
  • Team-oriented, able to engage well with both workshop and field crews.
